Mason City Riverhawk Girls Track and Field
The Mason City Girls Track Team had some outstanding results at the State Track Meet over the weekend. The distance medley relay team broke a 45 year old record running 4:11.38 and placing 10th. The old standard was 4;12.83 set by Sandy Heitland, Tina Solomon, Tammy Lunning, and Roxanne Petersom in 1980.
The 4x800 team of Brogan Evans, Brynn Peterson, Paizlee Carter, and Janae Hansen dropped 18 seconds to run a season best time of 9:56.07. The 4x400m relay team of Savannah Davis, Peyton Zilge, Anna Latham, and Janae Hansen ran a season's best of 4:09.38 and the sprint medlley team of Anna Latham, Peyton Zilge, Latasha York, and Savannah Davis ran a season best time of 1:53.77 placing 17th. Savannah Davis also ran 1:00.48 in the open 400 to place 16th.
